The constant change in prices for energy and final livestock products makes this industry unattractive for agricultural producers. The only way out of this situation is seen in reducing the cost of meat by reducing the cost of feeding poultry using cheaper local feed. Recently, the composition of feed used in poultry farming has changed significantly. But no matter how the set of ingredients in compound feeds changes, they should all serve as sources of protein and energy. The following ingredients are considered as unconventional ingredients for highly nutritious feed: hulless barley, linseed oilcake, winter cress oilcake, camelina oilcake, rapeseed oilcake, rapeseed flour. The aim of this work was to study the features of raising broilers on compound feeds containing unconventional feed ingredients of plant origin. Overview data on the use of various unconventional feeds in feeding chickens, goslings, turkeys and quail, grown for meat, are given. It has been established that the use of compound feeds containing new feed ingredients in broiler feeding does not adversely affect the zootechnical indicators of poultry rearing, the quality of the products obtained, but it sharply increases the profitability of meat production as cheaper and more affordable ingredients.
