The cyber space contains enormous cultural and didactic potential, which is already used in teaching all over the world. However, the optimal and effective use of network resources for educational purposes requires enormous research work, the results of which will determine the general and particular principles of work, the selection criteria for network resources, sites and materials, as well as significantly update the arsenal of teaching aids and methods.

In recent years, the question has been raised more often about the use of new information technologies in high schools and universities. This is not only new technical means, but also new forms and methods of teaching, a new approach to the learning process. The main goal of teaching foreign languages is the formation and development of the communicative culture of schoolchildren and students, and the teaching of practical mastery of a foreign language.

Forms of working with computer training programs in foreign language lessons include:

  • •    study of vocabulary;

  • •    pronunciation;

  • •    teaching dialogic and monologic speech;

  • •    training in writing;

  • •    development of grammatical phenomena.

The possibilities of using Internet resources are huge. The global Internet creates the conditions for obtaining any information necessary for students and teachers located anywhere in the world: country- specific material, news from youth, articles from newspapers and magazines, necessary literature, etc.

On the basis of electronic manuals, network resources, such an innovation in network interaction becomes possible as the use of remote control over the course of educational activity. For example, according to the log files of the web server, the teacher and the administration of the educational institution have the opportunity to learn about the amount of time spent by the student in order to study a certain thematic content of the discipline, to analyze the features of educational activity, the cognitive style of the subject, which allows to improve the quality of education.1

At the present stage of the development of teaching foreign languages, when choosing a teaching method, it is necessary to proceed from the characteristics of the team in which it will be used, it is necessary to take into account the personal characteristics of the students, their age, interests, level of training, the period during which the training will take place, and the same technical equipment of the institution.

Separately and in more detail, it is necessary to dwell on the distance learning form, which is the youngest.

Distance Learning Technologies - Distance learning is a broader concept than e-learning, an intensive synthesis of interactive learning and support. Thus, elearning is part of distance learning.2

Distance learning is distance learning and, that is, the learner is separated from the learner by distance. In our country, this form of training was known as correspondence. In the practice of teaching foreign languages, it was not used as widely as in other areas. Therefore, for a long time, searches have been conducted for ways of more effective distance learning. Along with print media, television, video, and, in recent years, CD-ROM, have been widely used for these purposes . The fact is that without systematic, feedback from a qualified teacher, such courses, as a rule, are doomed to failure, despite various attempts to give them elements of entertainment and communication.

With the advent of the computer, this work has become even more attractive for students. Using the Internet, they perform informative and searchable country studies tasks, work with reference literature, learn to use English as a means of education and self-education.3

In recent years, universities of various countries have drawn attention to the possibility of using computer telecommunication technologies for the purposes of distance learning, including foreign languages. Unlike other forms of distance learning, training on the basis of computer telecommunications provides opportunities:

  • •    operational transmission of any information at a distance;

  • •    storing this information in memory for the right time, its editing;

  • •    interactivity with the help of specially created multimedia information for this purpose and quick feedback with the teacher and other participants in the training course;

  • •    access to various sources of information , including remote and distributed databases, numerous to conferences around the world via the Internet.

  • •    organization of joint telecommunication projects;

  • •    international, electronic conferences , computer audio and video conferences.

In other words, the effectiveness of distance learning depends on the organization and methodological quality of the materials used , as well as the skill of the teachers involved in this process.

Students can take part in testing , quizzes, contests, competitions held on the Internet, correspond with peers from other countries, participate in chats, video conferences, etc. Students can get of information tion on the issue, on which work is currently in the project.

The use of cyber space for educational purposes is a completely new area of general didactics and private methodology, since the changes that occur affect all aspects of the educational process, from the choice of techniques and work style to the change in requirements to the academic level of students.

The substantial basis of mass computerization of education is, of course, connected with the fact that a modern computer is an effective means of optimizing the conditions of mental labor in general, in any of its manifestations.

Until recently, teaching a foreign language was based on the traditional approach, which consists of communicating the sum of theoretical knowledge by the teacher and developing students’ skills in the discipline being studied. In the classroom, the teacher does not always have the opportunity to pay due attention to each student, so many of them lose motivation to learn, which leads to a significant decrease in the level of their knowledge, skills and abilities.4

Communicating in the true language environment provided by the Internet, students find themselves in real life situations. Involved in solving a wide range of significant, realistic, interesting, and achievable tasks, they are trained to respond spontaneously and adequately to them, which stimulates the creation of original utterances, rather than the template manipulation of language formulas.
