The results of a survey of consulting psychologists with successful practice experience on the use of non-verbal communication tools in their work are presented. The survey results show that non-verbal communication plays an important role in the professional activities of counseling psychologists. Specialists use various strategies to adjust their non-verbal behavior. Body language, facial expressions, gestures, changes in intonation, and distance in communication help a psychologist understand a client’s true feelings, establish trust, and empathy, as these nonverbal signals often convey more information than words. They allow you to identify hidden emotions, contradictions and deep feelings of clients. The conclusion is made about the importance of developing skills in using non-verbal communication tools among students studying in the fi eld of Psychology with the profi le of “Consultative Psychology. Psychotherapy”, specialty “Clinical psychology”.
