Illegal production of aquatic biological resources: some trends of legal regulation improving

Statistics show that in recent years there has been a steady increase in illegal encroachments on aquatic biological resources. Criminogenic situation is escalating. Uncontrolled profitable business leads to depletion of individual species populations. The situation has worsened so much that it became one of the factors of national threats. Effective environmental protection can be provided by the criminal law, if it is unified, task-oriented and yet complex in this area. In the article the suggestions for improving the criminal legislation on combating «marine poaching» are given.
