Independence of the central bank: point of view of the European monetary authorities

This article considers views of various economists of concept and criteria of the central bank’s independence. The author pays special attention to the analysis of experience of the European Central Bank in the sphere of ensuring independence of the central banks of member countries of the European Union and possibility of its application in Russia.
