The existence of low frequency oscillations (1-10 Hz) in some modes of membrane processes (reverse osmosis, electroosmosis, bioosmotic phenomena, fuel cells) is long known. Although oscillations are not considered important to understand the processes in membranes, nevertheless many noted these features in their studies. We are the first to discover pressure fluctuations in an osmotic cell during direct osmosis. This suggests that oscillations are a consequence of the properties of the membrane itself and the transport of water inside the cell without the influence of other extraneous factors, which make it possible to better understand the mechanisms of processes in the membrane.
