The article examines the present condition of normative-legal regulation and state control in the construction sector, taking into account the current trends in the implementation and advancement of information technologies in the industry. Based on the analysis of the use of information modeling technology in industrial companies and engaged in the construction of linear objects. It is concluded that there is insufficient use of this technology. The conclusion about insufficient use of this technology was made. More exact understanding of interaction of technology of information modeling and the state control in the field of construction is promoted by the analysis of its legal regulation. It plays a key role in process of use of information technology and is a necessary condition for its realization. The existing norms and regulations were published in 2006-2007, therefore they hardly contain the provisions devoted to technology of information modeling. The process of actualization began only at the end of 2021, while the use of information technology in the field of construction accelerated as early as 2019. Of course, there are already prerequisites for the appearance of more specific rules that will regulate the process of state control in the field of construction with the use of technology of information modeling. However, at present, the state control in the field of construction is just beginning to master the technology of information modeling, and the most difficult stage - the organization of the process, has yet to pass.
