“Nostalgia confusion”: the issue of the purpose of the poet-emigrant in the early lyric poetry of V. Nabokov

The article deals with the analysis of the early lyric poetry of V. Nabokov reflecting the period of the creative quests of a young poet leaving the motherland. There is revealed the leitmotif of the song acting as a special hymn of the deportation. The study of the poetic texts shows that the issue of the purpose of the author and poetry in the conditions of the emigration has an ambivalent character. Nevertheless, there is observed the inextricable connection of the poet with the Russian mentality, expressed paradoxically, and the image of Russia thanks to the creative adoption of the figuratively romantic poetic traditions.
