New state program of Russia's armament: economic aspects

The recently approved state armaments program will become the basis of defense procurement and Russia's military priorities until 2027. Based on the progress achieved in the previous program, it should contribute to the further strengthening and modernization of the Russian armed forces. This article discusses the main objectives and economic opportunities of Russia to achieve them. In spite of the fact that the program itself is classified, the information available in open sources allows us to draw valid conclusions about its significance. Nevertheless, the slowdown in economic growth in Russia revealed problems in the current budget policy. All this may lead to a review of the cost of national defense.
