A new model for the development of economic cooperation within BRICS

Our research is devoted to the analysis of the main trends and directions of development of economic cooperation within the framework of the BRICS association, caused by changes in the world economic order due to modern geopolitical changes. Anti-Russian economic sanctions have changed the attitude of developing countries to the format of international economic cooperation, so our analysis shows that the BRICS group will expand in the foreseeable future, but this expansion will be limited. The study separately examines the main trends in the development of BRICS, assesses the specifics and trends in the development of mutual trade of its member countries, and reveals the key problems of further expansion of BRICS. A special place in the article is given to the consideration of the new BRICS development model, which is based on the de-dollarization of cross-border trade of countries. We came to the conclusion that BRICS is a viable association, but faces a set of problems. Among them, we note a slowdown in global economic growth, increased geopolitical tensions, differences in the priorities of member countries, pressure from Western countries, and problems with coordination and cohesion.
