The new organizational form of rehabilitation for mentally ill patients

A new organization model of psychiatric help - “a complex a round-the-clock hospital (with the open doors) - a day time hospital” is proposed. The priority of this form of psychiatric help is caused by the circumstance that among factors promoting the patient's nonverbal behavior and, so directed to his/her social recovery, the essential role belongs to so-called “geometry of social space”. The destruction of the developed behavioral stereotypes within the limits of certain personality-territorial interaction takes place while transferring the patient from one unit of the hospital to another and the necessity for creating the new interactions with other patients in conditions of changing spatial hierarchy appeared for this patient. Noted above is substantially leveled at the organization of “a round-the-clock hospital (with the open doors) - a day time hospital” unit. Creation of such a unit promotes conservation of specified psychological constructs or psychological sovereignty of the patient, i. e., to his/her existence as a full body-territorial and existential unity, maintains or improves his/her adaptation-compensatory mechanisms and, therefore leads to successful biopsychosocial rehabilitation. At the same time, the further study and accumulation of the facts for specification of precise criteria of work of the given structure and formation of corresponding rules of law of its existence is required.
