New interpretations of national literary classics as a phenomenon of modern Buryat art culture

Бесплатный доступ

The article considers the plays of modern Buryat playwrights G. Bashkuev and B. Shiribazarov based on the motives of the classical works of the Soviet Buryat literature – the story "Tsyrempil" of Kh. Namsaraev and the novel "The Lost Fate" of D. Batozhabay. As a result of comparing new interpretations with primary sources, a number of tendencies characterizing the dialogue of modern writers with the Soviet literary heritage have been revealed: new view of the events of the early XX century, polemics with socialist realist aesthetics, features of postmodernist creativity. It is concluded that the appeal to the classical heritage serves as internal reflection and renewal of the Buryat art culture by preserving its historical continuity.
