New sources on the housing construction history in the Baikal-Amur Mainline zone

The article analyzes a new source on the Baikal-Amur Mainline construction history - “Baikal-Amur Mainline. Technical Report”, found by the author in the Museum of the History of the Baikal-Amur Mainline in Tynda. The conditions for creating the source are considered, its constituent parts are analyzed with an emphasis on information relating to the housing construction history in the Baikal-Amur Mainline (BAM) zone. The author comes to the conclusion that the data provided on the pages of the report allow a more extensive disclosure of a number of questions on the BAM construction history, ranging from the design of the mainline to its operation after the opening of through traffic. In addition, it can serve as a source of information for the researcher on the planning of permanent and temporary settlements, the volume of housing and social construction in them, not only in the form of statistical data, but also information on various shortcomings and omissions revealed in the course of construction.
