New finds of stone kettles in Mediaeval Rus

Two new finds of stone kettles are published originating from the fortifiedsite of Staraya Ryazan and Vladimir on Klyaz'ma. The both finds are identified as the pro-duction of Central Asiatic workshops. In Staraya Ryazan the vessel was discovered at theplot of production character, where amber was used as raw material. In Vladimir a frag-ment of stone kettle was probably related with the plot owned by a tradesmen engaged inamber trade. The finds' context suggests that at least in the second half of the 12 th - the firsthalf of the 13 th cc. objects of the kind were deliberately purchased by Russian artisans ortradesmen for production purposes.
