The frequency of pyelonephritis in patients with diabetes is 35 %, which is 7 to 8 times higher than in the general population. Latently flowing or little symptomatic undiagnosed urogenital infection provokes and supports decompensation of carbohydrate metabolism. The most significant effect of treatment of pyelonephritis in pregnant women with diabetes is considered to decrease the number of relapses or re-sharpening.
