This paper provides an overview of the ceramic assemblage from the excavations of the Demidovka hillfort in the Smolensk Dnieper region which is one of the most prominent Iron Age sites from the Migration period in this region. The finds are divided into three main cultural-chronological groups, namely, the Dnieper-Dvina culture, antiquities of the Tushemlya middle layer type, and the culture of the Tushemlya-Kolochin type. The paper focuses on the latter group, especially, two small series of the ceramic with a rib in the upper section which is emphasized by an extended roller. It can be inferred from the examination of the contemporary and noncontemporary links of these series that it was not only a distinctive element in the development of ceramic traditions in the culture of the Tushemlya-Kolochin type but also served as a link connecting these finds to the antiquities from the Uzmen unfortified settlement and the Pskov Long kurgans.
