New systems for monitoring and diagnosing the condition of overhead lines

The article deals with an urgent topic related to the monitoring and diagnosis of overhead power lines using complex diagnostic methods. The authors reveal the current problems in the operation of overhead lines, describe the complex diagnostics of overhead lines using various devices and devices. Special attention is paid to promising optical control methods using electron-optical ultraviolet flaw detectors, thermal imagers and high-resolution cameras. The paper evaluates the importance of the state of power supply networks for the transmission of electricity with minimal losses. A comparative analysis of existing overhead line monitoring devices is carried out. Based on the work done, solutions in the field of Internet of Things, unmanned systems, and the structure of electrical wires were identified.
