The article is devoted to the analysis of the state and development prospects of the Russian labor market in the conditions of the emergence of a new economy built on digital technologies. The factors that determined the shift in the sphere of labor relations and the spread of new, non-traditional forms of employment, such as informal employment, part-time employment, have been identified. The problems faced by the Russian education system in training personnel for the digital economy have been investigated. The necessity of mastering digital competencies is substantiated, which will contribute to the effective development of digital transformation processes in all spheres of society.
