A new approach to the kinetic criterion of glass transition of liquid

Бесплатный доступ

Using the model of delocalized atoms, we propose justification and generalization of the Schmelzer glass transition criterion. In contrast to the Bartenev and Wolkenstein-Ptitsyn approaches, the generalized kinetic criterion of glass transition, along with the relaxation time and the melt cooling rate, shows a glass transition temperature and an almost universal dimensionless constant, which is determined by the fraction of the fluctuating volume frozen at the glass transition temperature. The idea is developed that a liquid passes into a glassy state when its cooling rate q reaches a certain proportion of Cg from the characteristic cooling rate qg=(Tg/Tg), which is closely related to the relaxation time of the structure Tg at the glass transition temperature Tg.
