A new approach to the treatment of local radiation injuries to the urinary bladder: ultrasound-guided intrapelvic blockade

Бесплатный доступ

The paper deals with the treatment of radiation-induced bladder changes, radiation-induced pelvic fibrosis, ultimately leading to the upper urinary tract injury. Conservative treatment of the disorders is not always beneficial. The developed treatment approach includes ultrasound-guided intrapelvic blockade with fibrinolytic agents containing superoxide dismutase administered under ultrasound guidance. The use of ultrasound imaging makes possible precise administration of the agents, as well as implementation of minimally invasive interventions using fibrinolytic agents. The developed approach enables improving management and treatment strategy for local radiation injuries to the urinary bladder.
