New early maturing sunflower variety Yunat

Yunat is an early maturing variety of oil sunflower resistant to herbicides of sulfonylurea group (tribenuron-methyl). It was developed in the laboratory of sunflower varieties breeding of V.S. Pustovoit All-Russian Research Institute of Oil Crops in 2015–2021 as part of breeding and genetic program to obtain herb-icide resistant plants. It was bred by the individual se-lection using group cross-pollination of the best bio-types with herbicide treatment of resistant families at all stages of the breeding process. The variety is char-acterized by high productivity, broomrape resistance to the main races of the parasite. It is uniformed in plant height, flowering and maturing. It is suitable for culti-vation under Sumo and ExpressSun technologies. Since 2025, the new variety is undergoing State variety trial in the Central Black Earth (5) and Middle Volga (7) regions.
