A new type of writing implements from Novgorod the great

Pointed bronze stems with an end terminal shaped as a hand werediscovered in Novgorod the Great for the first time. With certain reservations they canbe classified as writing implements and attributed to the group of writing styli/awls ofthe European type, which can be identified with the styles characterized by a sculpturalend terminal.
