A novel LiRb2Fe(MoO4)3 triple molybdate

A solid-phase interaction of components in the Li2MoO4-Rb2MoO4-Fe2(MoO4)3 ternary system was explored with X-ray diffraction and the Li2MoO4-LiRbMoO4-RbFe(MoO4)2-Fe2(MoO4)3 phase diagram was determined. The formation of a novel LiRb2Fe(MoO4)3 triple molybdate was established. Synthesis conditions of the new compound in poly- and single crystal phases were found. X-ray diffraction was used for the structure analysis (a Bruker-Nonius X8 Apex diffractometer, MoKa radiation, 3118 reflections, a = 24.3956(6), b = 5.8301(6), c = 8.4368(2) Å, Z = 4, ρx. = 3.949 g cm-3, sp. gr. Pnma, R = 0.0211).
