The content of the moral tradition and its determinative influence on the legal standard of modern Russian society are analyzed. The author supposes and proves that the moral tradition is particularly relevant for Russia in the modern context. It is concluded that the development of the autonomy of the legal consciousness is closely related to the development of the personal autonomy based on values of traditional moral and religious consciousness which are a part of Russian cultural heritage. The results of the analysis substantiate the necessity of a moral tradition for self-regulation of such a large society as Russia, the idea of the anti-crisis capacity of the moral tradition, and the coincidence of the laws of determination of legal consciousness by a moral tradition and the creation of legal consciousness of the individual in childhood and adolescence.
