The article is devoted to the problem of rethinking and searching for new approaches to the system of moral education of children of senior preschool age. It deals with such urgent issues as the fall of morality in modern society, the insufficient attention of modern parents to education of their children and the inculcating spiritual values, the orientation of preschool educational organizations primarily to formation of moral representations in children and familiarization with moral norms of behavior. The article analyzes modern approaches to moral development and education of preschool children. The authors note that in pedagogical science and practice, a fairly large amount of experience has been accumulated in the formation of cognitive component of the moral development of children and there are insufficient researches devoted to the study of ways, means, and methods for the formation of emotional, motivational and behavioral components. The article contains the results of an empirical study of the moral development of older preschoolers and the attitude of parents towards moral education. The authors talk about the need to organize cooperation and interaction of subjects of the educational process in the implementation of moral education of preschool children. The article gives examples of the use of visualization, animal therapy, video training in the work with preschool children, parents and teachers of pre-school educational organizations.
