About the expediency of corporate codes

The article discusses the contradictory, divergent manifestations and consequences of the codification of regulators of the corporate culture. The objective of the study of the appropriateness of corporate codes is solved by analyzing the complex functions and bases of formalization of regulators, their practical value and identifying the possible negative consequences of hasty superficial codification, such as moral demagogy, ressentiment, personnel costs, loss of trust and responsibility, identity crisis. Errors of codification include redundancy value judgments, particular standards, unnecessary borrowing, superficial rhetoric, rigid sanctions. The process of formalization of behavioral regularities in the organization should be primarily a full-fledged dialogue on values, common rules and norms of interaction, principles of development between employees and managers. Properly structured communication becomes a condition for the formation of strong internal corporate identity.
