Civil status of nonprofit juridical persons is researched. The questions of efficiency of legislative division of juridical persons by functionality criteria (purpose criteria) into profit and non-profit ones are discussed. The article analyzes such notions used by the legislator as "gainful activity" and "entrepreneurial activity" and studies which interconnections and differences concerning non-profit juridical persons they have.
