Two typical examples of devices with automatic regulators are considered: a steam engine with a centrifugal Watt regulator and a carburetor float chamber. These examples are compared in their complexity for perception by modern students who are beginning to study the course of the theory of automatic control (regulation). Preference is given to the carburetor float chamber as the most suitable for initial acquaintance with the academic discipline, due to its greater simplicity and clarity, and therefore greater accessibility for perception by modern students.
