This article highlights the complex issues associated with the adoption of laws and regulations governing acts of ending human life in various countries around the world. The variety of approaches to euthanasia is considered in the context of the cultural, religious and medical characteristics of individual states. The key challenges facing societies seeking to balance individual rights, public interests and medical standards are highlighted. The study highlights the need for in-depth discussion and development of flexible, value-based legal approaches to euthanasia that take into account the specifics of each state. The article draws attention to the influence of cultural, religious and social factors on the formation of legislative norms. Examines the challenges that states face in balancing respect for individual rights with ensuring security and ethical standards.
