The tasks performed by the state control (supervision) in the field of labor law relations focus on the protection of labor rights and freedoms of citizens. In modern states, including the Russian Federation, the regulation of state control (supervision) is carried out through a coherent and developed system of state bodies with a sufficiently wide scope of powers. In recent years, Russia has faced a number of threats: both the pandemic and the sanctions policy of Western states, which has directly affected the development of legislation in this area. Purpose: to analyze the development of legislation on state control (supervision) over compliance with labor legislation and other regulatory legal acts containing labor law norms, including in the conditions of external threats. Methods: empirical, theoretical, specific scientific methods are used. Results: the study makes it possible to identify and analyze the structure of state bodies in the Russian Federation that exercise state control (supervision) over compliance with labor legislation and other regulatory legal acts containing labor law norms, their rights, powers and legal framework. At the same time, in the context of the coronavirus pandemic and the ongoing sanctions policy of Western states, some norms concerning state control (supervision) in this area have been changed by law.
