The paper revisits the dating of the construction remains discovered at Tarpanchi, which is a late Scythian settlement and the only site of this culture in the Northwest Crimea; this site is believed to have existed until the 3rd century AD. The analysis of the finds described in A. N. Scheglov's publications and reports (the leader of the excavations) demonstrates that these finds do not confirm such late date. Most likely, the settlement was completely abandoned at the end of the 1st - early 2nd centuries AD similar to what happened with other late Scythian sites of the region. The revisited dates suggest that the Tarpanchi fortifications were not built by the Late Scythians. It is quite possible that they are attributed to an earlier Greek period and that the Late Scythians only used and enlarged them.
