On the competence of expert technicians in conducting forensic auto technical examinations

The most common questions that need to be answered by an expert technician during a forensic auto technical examination are given. The conducted system analysis allows us to say that expert technicians do not conduct transport and tracological studies within the framework of the automotive technical expertise, although the Legislator gives them such powers. Based on the study of the materials of court cases, the main causes of violations identified in the conclusions of expert technicians are presented.
