On the avalanche-like destruction of soil base

Reliability and performance of load-bearing building structures is of paramount importance when designing buildings and structures. An important factor in the work of the frame is the soil base and foundations. However, in construction practice, there are cases of the formation of voids in the soil mass due to washing out, decompaction of the soil. The existing theories of the work of bodies in case of local damage are considered, however, studies in this direction in relation to the soil base have not been found. A research plan for identifying the dependences of the foundation settlements on the action of an external load is described, taking into account local soil damage, identifying the critical dimensions of local damage, upon reaching which an avalanche-like destruction of the soil mass begins.
