Concerning the XVIII century mausoleums in the Podkumok river valley

The article deals with the data difficult of access for modern researchers concerning with Adyghe and Abazin stone mausoleums of the XVIII century in the vicinity of Pyatigorye. Particular attention is paid to the description of the two mausoleums, located in the valley of the river Podkumok, according to the drawings made by the first architect of the city of Pyatigorsk -Giuseppe Bernardazzi and published by the researcher of Caucasus L.I. Lavrov. The author attempts to connect these monuments with the settlements existing in that area in the first half of the XIX century. It is concluded that the mausoleums of the studied period are the monuments of Adyghe feudal lords.
