The paper examined the early stages of the crisis on the Cimmerian Bosporus in the III century A.D. The study considered events with regard to interrelation of all the crisis phenomena. The author came to a conclusion that precisely struggle between various groups of ruling elite that served for the main catalyst for the onset of the period of destabilizing position on the Cimmerian Bosporus. The author noted that the mentioned statements about the current difficulties on the Lower Danube should be considered with reference to devastation at Gorgippia and disappearance of the urban community of Tanais settlers and probably termination of service of hirelings originated from the North (of Europe) at the Cimmerian Bosporus detachments.
