The paper examined the early stages of the crisis on the Cimmerian Bosporus in the III century A.D. The study considered events with regard to interrelation of all the crisis phenomena. The author came to a conclusion that precisely struggle between various groups of ruling elite that served for the main catalyst for the onset of the period of destabilizing position on the Cimmerian Bosporus. The author noted that the mentioned statements about the current difficulties on the Lower Danube should be considered with reference to devastation at Gorgippia and disappearance of the urban community of Tanais settlers and probably termination of service of hirelings originated from the North (of Europe) at the Cimmerian Bosporus detachments. Scramble for the Cimmerian Bosphorus Kingdom throne the Gold Mask, Kerch V unleashed against Farsanze underlay all these domestic conflicts that had led to defeat of the latter and his further retreat to the Budgeac steppes. Exactly this power play for the Cimmerian Bosporus became in effect a sort of catalyst for the train of dramatic events that had ultimately pushed the Cimmerian Bosphorus Kingdom to the brink of disaster.
