Concerning some aspects of icon image vision

This article reviews the problem of contemplation of icon and the question about the status of mystical contemplation. The approach to the phenomenon of vision of icon image is based on addressing to the theoretical and directly practical matters of the process of contemplation. In the first case, it is referred to reviewing the meaning of vision with the help of “spiritual eye” within the framework of Christian traditions and the process of its visual work. In the second case, the focus is on the practical matter of contemplation of the world by a human. It helps to show a specific character of vision of icon. The result of addressing to the problem of vision has its ontological sense: its understanding gives an opportunity to interpret icon image as a specific reality, a kind of being.
