About some functions of the hagioanthroponyms in the Spanish linguo-culture

The article focuses on the functions of the hagioanthroponyms, i.d. the names of saints, in the Spanish linguo-culture. The author reveals the general functions of the anthroponyms (e.g. appellative), and those functions that characterize hagioanthroponyms as a special kind of proper names (the plot-forming function). While functioning in the linguo-culture the semantics of hagioanthroponyms reflects the canonical image of the saint, and also the popular and the «quasi-hagiographical» image.
