About some peculiar features of the periodicals language (based on the American periodical NewsWeek)

Based on the famous American analytical edition Newsweek there are analysed the peculiar features of the journalistic style. The harmonious combination of the most formal and academic vocabulary with the colloquial and substandard vocabulary is a characteristic feature of the mentioned edition.
