After a comprehensive analysis of real and pictorial sources, we restored design and shape (a plate of protection of the face and neck) for the helmet, which Jurchen soldiers used in the second half of the 12th century - the first third of the 13th century. Protection of iron plates (lamellar barmitsa) covered the neck and throat of the warrior, and the whole face except the eyes. Interdisciplinary experimental tests showed that such armor reliably protect the face and neck of the warrior from chop enemy weapons and provided a good overview. The main drawback of such protection was poor ventilation, which may have made it difficult to breath. In addition, the cumbersome structure sometimes prevents fast pan and tilt head.
