Cases of extremism in culture: a philosophical aspect

While regarding culture as a universal system of social coding, the author reveals several aspects of the philosophical metrics of extremism treated as a deformation of a cultural code. This methodological basis helps analyze the ways of overcoming extremism in culture. Based on various examples, the research substantiates the inadmissibility of the exclusive, dividing cultural policy generating the prohibitive strategy where one culture matrix is declared correct and the others are incorrect. It is argued that it is important to create an inclusive multiple culture providing the consistent and tolerant coexistence of various evaluation concepts. The author proposes an effective way to overcome extremism through the development of inclusive thinking and inclusive culture instead of the radical fight against extremism. The researcher reveals the differences in terms ‘tolerance’ and ‘exclusivity’ having a similar meaning as well.
