About some difficulties of professional and speech adaptation of foreign students in the conditions of a military university

The article deals with the specifics of the adaptation period in the course of speech training of foreign cadets and the improvement of their communicative competence in the professional aspect. The article is aimed to consider the ways and methods of professionally oriented foreign language training of students from other countries in the conditions of a Russian military university. The paper gives an interpretation of such concepts as "professional adaptation", "speech adaptation", "professional language". The author, raising the issue of foreign language training of students, notes the military-applied orientation of training, focused on the formation of Russian language skills in foreign cadets in the field of interpersonal and professional communication; development of communicative skills in the field of professionally significant types of speech activity (special attention is paid to listening as one of the most difficult methods in teaching Russian speech to foreign citizens); formation of the ability to use the Russian language as a source of information necessary for direct work in the specialty. This article highlights some of the difficulties of professional speech adaptation (professional — in the framework of obtaining and mastering a military profession, speech — the formation of communicative competence, mastering the rules of speech behavior) of foreign students in a military university, and also points out ways to overcome them.
