On some issues of investigation of crimes in the field of drug trafficking

The author studies the possibility of optimizing the initial stage of the preliminary investigation process using the example of the activities of the internal affairs bodies of the Russian Federation to combat drug trafficking. Through the prism of the idea of procedural economy, the norms of the Criminal Procedure Code of the Russian Federation are analyzed, which regulate the activities of investigative bodies within the framework of operational search measures and investigative actions before the initiation of criminal proceedings and during the preliminary investigation.
