On the need for adopting the Federal law "On the universal genomic registration in the Russian Federation" in order to improve the quality of crime solution and investigation

The relevance of the topic is in the fact that in conditions of a difficult situation in the country and the growth of manifestations of organized crime, extremism and terrorism, the role of one of the types of forensic registration - genomic registration increases. Therefore, the actual problems of the formation, accumulation and use of genomic (DNA) registration in crime investigations are considered. The attitude of different segments of the population to the idea of universal genomic registration in the Russian Federation is analyzed. The author of the paper develops forensic recommendations to address ethical, organizational, technical and financial problems in conducting genomic registration. The possibilities of improving the quality of crime solution and investigation as a result of the universal genomic registration of the Russian population are shown.
