About the need to improve crime victim statistics

The article deals with the concept of victimological statistics, its relationship with victimological accounting. The author notes that the offcial statistics do not refect all the qualitative and quantitative indicators regarding the victims of crimes. Victimological monitoring should be carried out regularly under a special program and include surveys of different categories of the population, analysis of criminal cases, identifcation of correlations between different indicators. In particular, you should seek the opinion of the respondents about the level of protection from criminal infuence, the role of the victim in the mechanism of the crime, the nature of the relationship between victims and criminals in predprestupny and criminal situation, the nature of the post-criminal behavior of crime victims, activity of victims in the criminal process, the level of legal and social protection of victims of crime. This will allow to get a more complete picture of the state of crime and to develop criminological and victimological reasonable criminal and preventive policies.
