On the concept of «victim»in the criminal law

The article deals with the terminology used in the legislation of the Russian Federation, in the literature, and law enforcement practice in determining a person who has suffered damage as a result of the offense. A concept of the victim of a crime, used in the regulations of criminal law and law of criminal procedure; some of the legal problems of the analyzed application standards are identified, as well as the question of necessity of separation substantial and procedural concepts of the victim at the legislative level. The author’s position on the issue is offered.
