On legal problems of waste management at the regional level

Introduction. The paper notes that Russia’s transition to a “green” economy will require the greening of all spheres of economic activity, including waste management. Now, a number of measures have been taken at the federal level aimed at improving the efficiency of production and consumption waste management, reducing waste burial and increasing waste disposal volumes, and building new waste processing plants. However, these measures are universal in nature and poorly take into account the specifics of the regions. To account for it at the level of the subjects of the Russian Federation, it is necessary to adopt their own regulations.
