On the continuity of the experience of the NKVD of the USSR in providing its own security during the Great Patriotic War by the Rosgvardia

The article examines the activities of the Special Departments of the NKVD of the USSR during the Great Patriotic War, as the predecessors of the internal security organs of the National Guard troops of the Russian Federation. The authors of the article note that the Special Departments of the NKVD contributed to the victory of the Soviet Union over Nazi Germany. Their activities in combating unreliable elements and monitoring compliance with the rule of law in the troops were necessary and effective, deserving the attention of security agencies of law enforcement agencies in modern military-political conditions. When considering theoretical issues of ensuring one’s own security, based on an analysis of legislation and the views of scientists, a definition is given to the categories “security” and “own safety”, taking into account the specifics of the service and combat activities of the Russian Guard. The content of ensuring one’s own security in the troops of the National Guard of the Russian Federation is revealed. In conclusion of the article, the authors come to the conclusion that during a special military operation it is necessary for the Russian Guard’s own security units to use the positive experience of their predecessors - the Special Departments of the NKVD of the USSR during the Great Patriotic War. According to the authors, vesting the internal security units of the Russian Guard with a number of powers of the Special Departments of the NKVD in the field of operational search, intelligence and counterintelligence activities would contribute to a significant increase in the efficiency of fulfilling the tasks assigned to the Russian Guard.
