The problem of victimization of victims of crime

The article raises and describes the problem of condemnation of victims of various types of crime by society, examines in detail the definition of the concept of “victimblaming”, studies the main reasons for its emergence and further existence in society and the harm caused by it to the individual. The psychological nature of the victim’s condemnation by society and the psychological phenomena on which it is based are described. It also describes the manifestation of victimblaming in the media, especially its use in television programs and Internet sources. It describes the possibility of harm to this social phenomenon in cases involving jurors. Also the ways of struggle against manifestations of victimblaming by means of influence on the society of mass media and assistance to victims from the state, namely rendering of free psychological and legal aid are offered.
