This study raises the question of moral and intellectual values relations. The paper criticizes L. Zagzebski’s position that intellectual virtues are a subclass of moral ones. The thesis that some crude correlation between moral and intellectual virtues may exist, they may even partially coincide, but this cannot be called a causal or logical connection is substantiated. The study presents a theoretical model of intellectual virtues deduction from moral ones and, by analyzing a number of cases, it is shown that the virtues of the same name, such as moral honesty and intellectual honesty, moral humility and intellectual humility are conceptually not reducible to each other.
