On the development of a circular economy in the Russian Federation: prospects and challenges

The article discusses one of the concepts of the “fourth industrial revolution” based on the integration of innovative technologies and artificial intelligence systems with productive processes. We believe that introduction of circular technologies into productive processes pave the way to the economic feasibility of the “fourth industrial revolution”. In addition, the article presents an analysis of various federal and national projects of the Russian Federation related to the “green” economy, including the federal project “Circular Economy”. Besides, we have shown the difference between the linear reproduction process diagram and the reproduction process diagram in the context of a circular economy, and discussed the advantages and disadvantages of implementing the federal project “Circular Economy”, taking into account the forecast of the gross domestic product of the Russian Federation when introducing closed-cycle systems in enterprises.
